10.00am Parish Communion (Common Worship)
11.30am Matins (Book of Common Prayer)
6.30pm Choral Evensong (Book of Common Prayer)

Mark welcomes enquiries about joining the Choirs at any time.

The robed Choir of Boys and Men maintains the ancient English Choral tradition by singing at the two principal services each week (10.00am and 6.30pm).

There are 13 Boys, aged between 7 and 14 and drawn from schools throughout the Kendal area; they meet for rehearsals on Wednesday evenings from 6.30 - 7.30pm and on Friday evenings from 6.30 - 8pm. They have their own special Choir Club Room in the Kirkland Hall, to which they have access after the Wednesday rehearsal and the Sunday morning service. The Boys receive a fee for attendance, plus bonuses for achievement. As they grow older and their voices change, there is the opportunity to win Choral Scholarships and sing with the Men.

If you have a musical son (aged 7 - 9) and would like to enquire about arranging an audition, please contact Mark at any time.

The 10 Men (singing alto, tenor and bass) are volunteers, also coming from the surrounding area. They are all former choir Boys, either of Kendal Parish Church or of other churches and cathedrals. In addition to singing with the Boys during school term time, they also maintain the Choral Evensong service during school holidays, particularly in the summer months. They rehearse on Friday evenings from 7.00 - 8.30pm and enjoy a variety of social activities throughout the year.

Enquiries about joining the Men are welcome at any time. There is presently room for additional altos (counter-tenors) and tenors.

The Congregational Choir is a voluntary unrobed group that shares in singing with the Boys and Men during the 10.00am Sunday service. They lead this service by themselves when the Boys and Men are on holiday, and also sing with the Boys and Men at services marking the principal Feasts (such as Advent Sunday) during the course of the Church’s year. Open to women and men of all ages, with no audition required, this Choir rehearses on Monday evenings from 7.00 - 8.00pm. Enquiries about joining are welcome at any time.
